How I Discovered Ethel Dell

Ethel Dell was a popular author of women's novels in the 1910s - 1930s. Her books are very different from what you find on the shelves today, and interesting for that reason if nothing else, but they are also splendidly written and plotted, and breathlessly romantic.
I searched for Elinor Glyn, because I was curious about the reference in "The Music Man". I read an Elinor Glyn and found it curious enough to amuse me once, but not the type of thing I'd come back to. But this article, "Tiger Skins, Sheiks and Passionate Kisses", made me VERY interested in Ethel Dell. She sounded like just my kind of author-- and she is!
You can read many of her best novels for free at Gutenberg!
